Two engineers from Ingersoll Rand set out to reinvent the bead breaker. What started as a garage prototype became a patented, USA-made tool trusted by mechanics, riders, and shop owners worldwide.

Lucas Taylor
The engineer behind BeadBuster today

Lucas Taylor.

Lucas holds a BS in Materials Science & Engineering from Lehigh University. After years of designing cutting-edge power tools alongside Warren at one of the most prestigious tool companies in the U.S., he founded Lucas Technical Services in 2009 to develop products for startups and major corporations alike.

A lifelong motorcyclist — from mini-bikes as a toddler to sport bikes today — Lucas ran the front end of BeadBuster while also performing all final engineering design and marketing work. Since taking over full ownership in April 2026, he has discontinued his consulting practice to focus on BeadBuster full-time.

Fun fact: Lucas is an expert marksman with rubber bands. He once knocked a cup of coffee out of Warren's hand at 40 paces — and somehow kept his job.

Warren Seith
The original inventor

Warren Seith.

Warren has a long history of creating innovative solutions for difficult problems as an Engineering Manager of New Product Development for one of the world's major power tool companies. With a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Ohio State University, he holds dozens of patents, piles of inventions, and is always coming up with "crazy ideas."

A motorcycle rider his whole life, Warren has spent the last 25 years on sport quads. In 2020, he walked away from the corporate world to focus 100% on BeadBuster. Before retiring, he ran fulfillment, operations, production, and the "back end" of the business — keeping suppliers honest, supervising final assembly of every Made-in-USA tool, and making sure each bead breaker met BeadBuster's high standard of quality.

Fun fact: Warren actually hired Lucas and was his boss for over 6 years. Lucas says Warren was the best boss he ever had.

BeadBuster Genesis

Born in a garage. Proven in the field.

Like many of our customers, we started as avid Powersports enthusiasts and DIY mechanics who wanted to change our own tires. We tried every trick in the book — 2×12s, bottle jacks, cheap bead breakers — and the beads still wouldn't budge. Along the way, we even ruined an expensive aluminum racing rim.

So we put our heads together and designed a better way. What began as a homemade ATV bead breaker for personal use quickly caught the attention of our riding buddies. After enough "can I borrow that?" requests, we refined the design, started a company, and set out to give fellow riders the right tool for the job.

Our first sale was in October 2012. On April 1, 2026, Warren officially retired and Lucas took over 100% ownership of BeadBuster, moving all operations to Williamsport, PA. After 14 years as partners and friends, the mission remains the same: build the best manual tire bead breaker on the market.

BeadBuster has some pretty humble beginnings. We both have a lot of experience in Mechanical Engineering & product development (almost 50 years combined!), but we had no idea what we were getting into when we decided to start a new manufacturing and retail business. If we've learned one thing, it's that commercializing a product is A LOT OF WORK! Just having a good idea is not enough — it's one small part of a much larger puzzle.

But we are very proud of what we've done so far, and where we think we're headed. We made our 1st production run (of 10 whole tools) and officially launched in October 2012. After Lucas made the first website, we stood back and watched what happened. We were actually amazed that people wanted to buy what we made — and we grew steadily in the following years.

Now we manufacture manual tire bead breakers in lots of 10,000. However, you can always be guaranteed that as a small business, we take a lot of pride in our work, and we believe that exceptional customer service is the single most important thing we can do for our business. As of May 2026, we have sold more than 67,000 Bead Breakers! So when we say that the design is "Tried-and-True," you know we are telling the truth.
