You get a captive Ram Screw riding a floating Ram Nut inside the Ram Foot, so the foot can twist and pivot around the thread engagement point instead of binding or side-loading — meaning smoother pushes and longer thread life.
You get a Ram Nut (hardened 4140 steel) with 2× the nominal thread diameter — a full 1.5" of engagement — so you can push a peak of 28.7 tons, more than double what a hydraulic bead breaker gives you.

You'll shear the ASTM A574 bolt (~362 ft-lbs) long before you ever strip a thread — keep the threads greased and stripping is virtually impossible. If a bolt does give out, it's a cheap, easy swap, and both parts ship in the Rebuild Kit (BB8X-RSW-RBK).
Translation: the bolt gives out long before the tool does — and it's a cheap, 5-minute swap.
Others: a blown hydraulic seal or ram means a shop repair.
Keep the Ram Screw captive so it can't walk off.
You get a Ram Screw locked into the Tool Body by a Thrust Bearing Stack — an oil-impregnated thrust bearing between two bearing steel washers — loading against the Tool Body and a Hog Ring snapped into the shaft. A special countersink compresses the music-wire Hog Ring for a positive lock, so the screw stays put no matter how rough the job site.
Translation: the screw can't fall out or get lost in the mud.
Others: loose screws and parts that walk off the job site.
Keep the Clamp Screw captive, too.
You get a Clamp Screw held in the Tool Body by a Thrust Bearing Stack loading against the outside of the Tool Body and the underside of the hex head, then captured inside the Clamp Carrier by a custom Castle Nut and Roll Pin — so you never assemble, drop, or hunt for a loose part on the job.
Translation: nothing to disassemble, drop, or misplace on a job site.
Others: multi-piece setups you have to assemble every time.
Flip a hinge, reach any flange you're up against.
You get a 2-position Clamp Arm Hinge — the upper position handles typical 3-pc flange widths, the lower position stretches the Clamp Arm out for wider rim flanges — so you're never stuck without the reach you need.
You get a hinge built to save weight while soaking up the highest clamping loads: the pin only retains the arm, while reaction forces flow straight into a journal cast into the Tool Body. You get heavy-duty hinge performance without a heavy-duty pin to snap.
